Documents

The Documents dock is your manuscript tree — chapters, scenes, parts, and notes in reading order.

What it shows

A hierarchical outline of every document in the project. The order and nesting here are your book's structure: compiling or exporting the manuscript walks this tree top to bottom.

Using it

• New adds a document; drag to reorder or renest; F2 renames and Delete removes (with a confirmation).
• Right-click for rename, duplicate, visibility, tags, and more.
• Selecting a document opens it in the Editor and updates the Document Info inspector.
• Documents can be prose, notes, or screenplay; a note that cites no source shows up in Show Unsupported Claims.

The Outline and Corkboard are alternate views of this same tree.
