The validating timeline

The Timeline is the app's flagship. This guide builds one that checks itself.

Your own calendar

Edit the project calendar (invented months, weekdays, an era name, and named eras) so dates read in your world's reckoning. Create events with dates, participants, and locations; give a character a lifespan; mark eras.

Let it argue back

As you build, the validator watches for contradictions and lists them in the Conflicts dock: a character in two places at once, a scene before its hero is born, impossibly fast travel, or a dangling reference. Click a conflict to jump to it.

Write your own rules

Manage Continuity Rules lets you assert facts — a character must hold a title by a given year, a field must contain a value, a number must stay in range — with comparators like equals, contains, one-of, and numeric ranges. The timeline then holds you to them.

Read it as a graph

Add a quantitative series lane to plot a measure over time. Link routes on your Maps to events so a drawn journey is checked against the dates.
